Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul fight postponed due to legendary boxer's health, Netflix says
The much-anticipated fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul has been postponed due to Tyson's health, Netflix announced Friday.
"Unfortunately Jake Paul and Mike Tyson will not face-off on July 20 as planned," Netflix noted in a post shared on X. "Tyson’s recent ulcer flare up has limited his ability to train fully for the next few weeks."
Tyson suffered a medical episode on a plane from Miami to Los Angeles Monday. He was on the flight when he reportedly experienced symptoms, including nausea and dizziness.
At the time, a representative for Tyson told CNN the boxer had "an ulcer flare up 30 minutes before landing,” adding that he "is appreciative to the medical staff that were there to help him.” As of Monday, reps said the medical issue would not impact his upcoming fight with Paul.
But that has changed.

Unfortunately, due to my ulcer flare-up, I have been advised by my doctor to lighten my training for a few weeks to rest and recover,” Tyson told Netflix. “My body is in better overall shape than it has been since the 1990s and I will be back to my full training schedule soon. Jake Paul, this may have bought you some time, but in the end you will still be knocked out and out of boxing for good. I appreciate everyone’s patience and can't wait to deliver an unforgettable performance later this year.”Paul also responded to the postponement and shared his own words with Tyson.

Paul vs Tyson will be one for the ages, and I promise to bring my best for this once-in-a-lifetime matchup.”Netflix said the fight will be rescheduled for a date later this year.
"Stay tuned for the new fight date to be announced by the end of next week," according to Netflix.
Previously purchased tickets for the fight will be honored for the new date.
